Rebecca King-CrewAmerican actor Thomas William Selleck. His first role was the role of a private investigator Thomas Magnum in the television series Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988) and for which he was awarded five Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead actor in a Drama Series which he won in 1985. From 2010 until the year 2010, Selleck was the New York City Police Chief Frank Reagan. In nine television movies based upon the Robert B. Parker novels He played Jesse Stone, a troubled small-town police chiefwho began his career in 2005. Selleck also played the role as Peter Mitchell, a bachelor architect in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and Three Men and a Little Lady(1990). Also, he's appeared in over 50 other films and TV parts from the time of Magnum, P.I., including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball and Lassiter. He was a regular TV actor playing Monica Geller's lover, Dr. Richard Burke, on Friends; Lance White, the charming and unassuming lover, on The Rockford Files; and A.J., casino owner. Cooper on Las Vegas. He also had a leading part in the TV western film The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran as well as a spokesperson for the National Rifle Association (NRA) as well as an endorser in ads for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
