Anita Ekberg

Anita Ekberg was a Swedish actress who starred in a variety of European as well as American films. Her most well-known role is portraying the character of "La Dolce Vita," which was a comedy-drama movie. In 1960, the film was awarded an award of the Golden Palm and an Oscar at the Cannes Film Festival. The film also achieved commercial and critical success. Prior to her first acting gig, the Swedish-born actress worked as an international model. She was crowned an award in the Miss Sweden competition. She moved to the US after which she started appearing in multiple movies playing minor role. Her first credited role was in the movie "Abbott and Costello Go To Mars', where she was the role of a Venusian guard. In the same year, she received the Golden Globe in the category of "Most Outstanding Newcomer," for her part in the film "Blood Alley.. Her work included a variety of films which included the War between Italy and America, as well as the drama film War and Peace, the Western "Valerie," the British Crime Adventure film The Man Inside and the film of the same name, The Dam on the Yellow River.'
