Harry Edward Styles - also called Harry Styles - is a British musician and songwriter. Harry Styles has been credited as composing songs to the One Direction band. He was born in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, England on February 1, 1994. He is the son of Des Styles and Anne Cox. Harry Styles was a student at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School, where together with his three classmates, he founded his own group, White Eskimo. White Eskimo won 2009's Battle of Bands thanks to the excellent presentation they gave. He was always interested in music but also wanted to pursue a career as the profession of a lawyer, physiotherapist, or even a scout. He was employed at the local bakery for a few hours to support his family financially. Harry Styles was selected for The X Factor 2010 audition in which he performed Stevie Wonder's track Is not She Lovely. Because of this, the group he was in had to be disbanded. Nicole Scherzinger was the judge that suggested Harry Styles to be part the group that would later be called One Direction, along with Liam Payne Zayn malik Niall Horan Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell was the sponsor of this group, which formed in 2010. The band performed songs like My Life Would Suffer Without You which was written by Kelly Clarkson, and Total Eclipse of the Heart, by Bonnie Tyler during the competition. This made the group one of the candidates for the prize. They were in third spot after Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle which were the winners. Harry Styles' group didn't place, but Cowell still paid two million dollars in cash to One Direction for them to make a deal with Syco.
