Lucy-Liu

Lucy Liu was born in the United States. Liu is an American actress, a singer and voice-over artist. She's a beautiful, intelligent actress who inspires many Asian actors to make it in Hollywood. Following a string of early appearances in some popular series her fame was boosted by joining the cast of the legal comedy show Ally McBeal where she played the sly Ling Woo. In the wake of her popularity, she was offered important part in Shanghai Noon (1998) and Charlie's Angels (2000). After that, she delivered her best role in Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill Volume 1 as Japanese crime lord O Ren Ishii. In the same period she was also in box-office flops like Rise: Blood Hunter. Later, she became voice actor for animated films including Kung Fu Panda. Small screen roles such as Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia did not yield results. Southland's critically-acclaimed police drama, Southland and a recurring part in the show helped Liu establish herself the status of an established actor. Liu picks her roles carefully in order to ensure she is not typecast in a competitive industry. Though she's proud of her heritage, she does not let the fact that she is from China limit her creative abilities.
