Taylor
Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop phenomenons one who was able to seamlessly transition from the country music scene to making her an iconic popular icon, and sweeping the world in the process. Swift shed country like it was another layer of herself, proving that she's possibly the smartest pop-singer/songwriter her generation. A person who has the ability to tap into the zeitgeist to make it personal as well as sing in the other direction. Swift's early songs, including their neo tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off her skills. However, her album Fearless revealed a songwriter who was discovering herself and gaining a huge following. Fearless wound up having considerable reach not just on the U.S. where it racked the record with six platinum singles, due to the Top Ten hits Love Story and Belong with Me Belong with Me but throughout the world, with a particular success with Canada, the U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift's new album, Speak Now, released just two years after the first one, consolidated this momentum. It helped propel Swift to superstardom. The next three albums she released, Red (2012) 1989 (2004) and Reputation (2017) Reputation (2017), the popularity of Swift grew, and she found herself in a world of pop music where it was clear that she was a part of. The popularity of her music grew after she altered her plan with 2020's pared-down siblings Folklore (and Evermore) and stayed in the forefront of pop culture.
